"Upcorn," weights, and a sensory bin solution

Graesen loves what he refers to as "upcorn."  :)

I tried to do a workout video today, because it was nasty outside and I didn't want to run.  It didn't last long.  Graesen kept taking the weights from me and then crying because they were heavy.

I have a new way of keeping Graesen from making a complete mess with his sensory bin.

  1. I like your sensory bin idea...especially with the pool :). I was just thinking I needed tubs of fun for Joseph. He gets so bored otherwise and we need things for him to do when I am feeding Genevieve :). Any other ideas?

  2. Hey Athena,
You could try magnets. Get some alphabet magnets (they are very cheap at Target and Walmart), and maybe some other magnets. Then set out a cookie sheet and let Joseph stick the magnets to the cookie sheet.
Sometimes when I need to cook dinner and Graesen won't let me I give him a couple of bowls and cooking utensils. I put a small amount of dry cereal in one of the bowls and give him some scoops too. He loves to pretend he is cooking, stirring, and scooping his food.
You could also try play dough in a high chair, stickers (Graesen loves stickers and they entertain him for a long time), or fun washable markers to use in his high chair.
I would have a few options for him during feeding time and let him choose what sounds the most fun.
