21 months and Graesen's big news

Graesen turned 21 months today!  I can hardly believe he will be two in only three months!  Graesen had another follow up GI appointment today.  The doctor was very pleased that I was able to wean Graesen off ALL of his medications.  He does, however, believe that Graesen may be having some sort of allergic reaction fairly often now days (red, rashy cheeks and then refusing to eat after eating something that bothers him and causes the red cheeks).  The doctor said that we should talk to Graesen's regular doctor about getting him a referral for the allergy specialist.  He had blood tests done at 9 months, but not very many things were tested and blood tests are not as accurate as skin tests.  We may have to wait a few months, because 2 years is usually when doctors stop doing blood tests and start doing skin tests.
Here are some Graesenisms at 21 months:
  • Weighs about 28 lbs (63.6%)
  • 35-36 inches tall (99-100%)
  • Talking a ton.  The kid has several sentences and copies pretty much anything he hears now.  He has even started asking for things by name, using a full sentence (i.e. "I want some crackers.")
  • Total show off.  Graesen loves to dance and run around fast when he is trying to show off.
  • Loves to look at, touch, and talk about animals, especially cats, dogs, and bunnies.
  • Obsessed with all shoes.
  • Into everything!  He tries to pull a chair around so that he can climb up on things that are too high for him.
  • Very loving and affectionate (says "I love you, Mommy")
  • Getting a little attitude.  Says "NO" all the time and with sass now days.
  • Can climb anything.  Really, anything.
  • Loves to read.  Favorite books: "Moo, Baa, La La La," "The Very Hungry Caterpillar," and a counting book.  He loves to count along with us, and has memorized "Moo, Baa, La La La."  Sometimes I walk into his room to find him "reading" to himself, using the correct words and sounds on the correct pages!
  • Likes to count everything, especially my toes!
  • Has started trying to sing along to songs he hears.
  • Sleeping much better.  He lasts about half the night in his own bed now, then wakes up and joins Evan and I for the rest of the night.
  • Has huge feet!  Size 7-8.  Wearing anything from 24 months to 3t depending on the brand.
  • Loves Veggie Tales and Blues Clues
  • Loving stickers lately, and starting to put them on his face and shirt.
  • Drinking out of a real cup like a big boy now.  No sippy cups anymore!
  • Loves his cooking/kitchen toys, legos, balls, trains, and cars.
And now for Graesen's big news:
We just found out last night.  We were so shocked to see a positive already, because I am only 3 weeks 2 days today.  With Graesen I could not get a positive until 4 weeks.  I had been feeling kind of sick and majorly craving spicy food, so I was thinking pregnancy was a possibility.  Last night I was thinking about the symptoms I was experiencing, and Evan kept talking about babies, so it was really on my mind.  I had a test, so I decided to take it, although I was pretty much positive that it would be to early to show anything.  I was wrong!  I took two more tests just to be sure, and they were both positive.  Evan and I are so excited and thrilled that God chose to bless us in this way.  I am due on December 24th, so Christmas season will be very exciting this year!  We told our families this morning and a few friends.  We like to have their support and prayers.  I wanted to post this now, because I love looking back at the blog and seeing what life was like at different times and the different things we were experiencing.  Please pray for a healthy baby and a healthy pregnancy.  I go in for my first ob appointment on May 9th.
