I worked this morning, then Evan, Graesen, and I met with my sister and Phoebe before Evan had to work. We met at a local pizza place that has a huge ball pit. Graesen and Phoebe played for 2 hours and would only stop for a couple of minutes to eat.
I am watching a documentary on Lyme Disease (off of Netflix) right now. I am feeling so grateful right now that I was diagnosed when I was. It is really amazing that I was. I was diagnosed only 9 years after lyme was discovered, so many doctors hardly knew a thing about it. On top of that we lived in an area where there had been no documented cases of lyme. I had just turned 4 and was really sick. I was very weak and doctors were testing for things like leukemia. My mom spent a lot of time researching trying to figure out what was happening. One day she found a little rash on the underside of my arm and looked it up. She demanded that I be tested for lyme and was actually met by some resistance from people who said I couldn't have it. I did and my dad and sisters were later diagnosed. My life could be very different right now if my mom had not insisted that I be tested. Due to lack of studies done on children who have been treated for lyme no one knows if the months I spent sick could affect my future health, but watching this show I just feel so blessed to have been treated when I was. Thank you mom for getting me the help I needed!
