We did our city's big road race today. I decided to walk it rather than run. It is a 7 1/2 mile race, and I really try to stick to runs of 30 minutes or less while pregnant. When I was pregnant with Graesen there were times I pushed it too hard and really paid for it. I also had a couple of runs that made me start to have some seriously painful contractions. So, going into this pregnancy I decided that I would exercise, but try to be reasonable and balanced. Evan wanted to run hard, so he started over an hour earlier than Graesen and I. Evan's dad and aunt, Karen, were going to walk it with me. We had to entertain Graesen before the start, so he ran around the park playing. He went on a slide, kept trying run to the river to go for a swim, met a pony in the pony ride area, and rode the carousel. Graesen was not too happy about the carousel until it started to move, then he remembered that he likes it. When it was time for us to start Evan was finishing, so he ended up joining us to walk it. It was such a nice sunny day, so we enjoyed ourselves. Graesen spent a lot of time dancing to music and eating snacks. He took a short nap and was really only fussy a couple of times. When we finished (with our nice new sunburns, since we forgot what it was like to have a warm day) we headed back to our house to have a bbq. Graesen loved playing in the grass with bubbles, chalk, a soccer ball, and the sandbox. He fell asleep at 6:40, so apparently sitting in a stroller was quite taxing for him.
