In case you did not know, blogger has been down, hence the lack of a post yesterday. Yesterday we took Graesen to the allergy doctor to see if we could figure out why he turns red while eating. We did a lot of waiting around and attempting to keep Graesen entertained in the office. The doctor did some skin tests and they came back clear. He said that Graesen may have an allergy that is to something we didn't test, he may just have an intolerance to certain foods, or he may have weird skin. He had us go buy citric acid and give it to Graesen with his water to see if it gave him a reaction. It did not. He told us to go ahead and start reintroducing foods that we know Graesen has had a "reaction" to. If he continues to have reactions to it, then we need to try and cook it before feeding it to Graesen. If Graesen does not react when the food is cooked, we will know that he is really allergic to something in that food. If he does react when the food is cooked, we will know that he has an intolerance (as opposed to an allergy) to that food. If reactions are not consistent, then it is likely this is all a skin thing. Some food cause your blood vessels to dialate. In some people this causes very red skin. These people often have some skin issues later in life. So, we still don't know why Graesen turns red when he eats certain foods, but we do feel more comfortable with him eating those foods now. I was afraid to give him those foods again, because I didn't want a worse reaction.
Today I worked all day, then went to pick up Graesen from my parents' house. We ended up going on a walk with my mom and aunt, then Graesen spent some time playing with Phoebe. I used some of my mom's crafting supplies to work on Graesen's birthday invitations. I didn't have the camera with me, so I had to wait until I got home to take a picture. When I got home I kind of freaked out. Our door was unlocked! There was no way I was going into that house along, at night, with a baby. I had to have Phoebe's dad (he lives super close) come over and search the house for me. I guess Evan just forgot to lock the door on his way to work. We finally got in (Graesen slept through it all) and I just laid Graesen down on the couch next to me. Even though both Phoebe's dad and I searched everything, I was still feeling a bit paranoid and wanted my baby boy next to me :)
