We started off the weekend by heading up to Evan's parents' lake cabin on Saturday. Graesen loves visiting the lake. This time he even got to try out the wave runner. He and Evan putted around the dock super slow.
Uncle Scott taught Graesen how to use a squirt gun.
Graesen spent some time wading in the water.
We threw a mini birthday party for Graesen up there since Uncle Scott and Aunt McKenzie won't be able to make it to the big party next Sunday. Graesen was chasing a dog around and found one of his gifts from Evan's parents a little early. A wagon!
We even had a cake that night.
Yesterday was very windy, so we couldn't take the boat out. Evan and I did take Graesen for a walk to the campground store for ice cream. Graesen was getting tired, so we put him in the backpack part way through the walk. He ended up sleeping through the ice cream. (Last year Graesen's legs definitely did not touch the ground! He is growing way too fast!)
Graesen learned how to throw/stomp on those little black cat fire crackers (the ones you just throw on the ground and they make a popping noise).
I took Graesen for a walk in his wagon that night down to the boat launch for some pictures.
Once it got dark out we did fireworks (they are legal at the lake) and watched other people set them off. Graesen really liked them! (Yes, Graesen is wearing his life jacket. We have a rule that if he goes off the deck he has to have his life jacket on. We don't bend on it so that he gets used to the idea. It saves my sanity).
Today we had to head back into town, because Evan had to work. We took a little boat ride before we left.
Graesen and I hung out at my parents' house today for swimming and dinner with family. We thought about going to see the big city fireworks today, but the kids were more interested in swimming.
