Tuesday tidbits

• Today is my mom's birthday.  Happy birthday mom!
• My mom watched Graesen for a couple of hours today while I worked.  I went to pick Graesen up, and he and Phoebe were going at it.  In fact Graesen went outside to ride Phoebe's bike and Phoebe was NOT a happy camper about it.  Both kids were in desperate need of naps :)

• Speaking of needing a nap, when I put Graesen in his car seat to leave he threw a HUGE fit.  He fought me so much, and in doing so completely twisted up the car seat straps.  Evan and I have been listening to a "Love and Logic" cd and have been really working on following it's methods.  I stayed as calm as possible and used a nice voice.  When he continued to throw a fit and I couldn't get the straps fixed I just told him that was okay and I would just read until he was done.  I sat in the front seat reading a book I had with me until he was calm enough to let me fix his straps.  I have have to say I think I like this Love and Logic thing.  If I stay calm it doesn't give Graesen control of the situation and it is more pleasant for me.  Graesen does not throw that big of a fit very often, but it is really nice to not let it affect me so much anymore :)

• Graesen fell asleep on the way home (surprise, surprise).  Clearly that fit was an "I need a nap NOW" kind of fit.  When we got home I put him in the stroller (while still sleeping) and took him for a run. 

• Part way through the run Graesen woke up.  I saw this red tree and it made me so happy :)

• While I cleaned and got dinner ready I had Graesen do a little halloween art.  He loves having little projects to do.  He was so proud of his coloring :)
