Saturday morning we took off nice and early and headed across the state for a salmon festival. Graesen made some phone calls on the way :)
We met my sister and her family at the festival. We watched the kids play, go on blow up slides, play games, and ride on a little train. We also got to watch the salmon swimming upstream.
That night we headed back to my sister's house. We went to a free concert at a corn maze. The proceeds from the food went to cancer research. The kids had so much fun and ran/danced almost the whole time.
Sunday we headed to a very cute little town. We browsed through stores and bought treats. We got Graesen a little wooden school bus that he decided needed to be driven on every surface he could find :)
In the afternoon we headed to another town. There was another festival going on there, but we found out it was expensive to get in. Since we were only going to be there for an hour or two we decided not to go into the festival, but just walk around the town. Someone handed us some leftover tickets, so Graesen got to go down a giant slide.
We found a big hill beneath a cemetery. The kids would have played there all day if we let them.
It was so pretty out and I was so excited to see that the leaves are starting to change.
We ended up deciding to stay one more night since I didn't have a sub job for today and Evan didn't have to be to work until 2:15. This morning we got up around 5 to catch an early ferry.
Graesen was an awesome traveler and never gave us any trouble during the 5 hour drives. He was so tired on the way home, but only slept about a 1/2 hour.
On the way home we saw a big motor home fire on the freeway. They were going the opposite direction of us and were pulled over. The entire cab of the motor home was engulfed in flames and people were running away. I called 911. We couldn't find a way to turn around until a long way down the road (we were on a freeway in the middle of nowhere), but luckily I could see that cars were coming up behind the motor home to help.
