I have dealt with a lot of hard stuff the past 2+ years. One of the biggest things that has helped me to not get too down is to get out everyday. If I stay at home I start to get sad and mopey, so I make excuses to get out. Graesen and I make extra trips to the library or the park. Anything to add some fun into our day and to get myself out of a funk. It has really helped a lot and continues to help during this difficult time. If I didn't have Graesen I don't think that I would even try to get out. Having Graesen has changed the way I deal with hard stuff.
This afternoon, Graesen and I went downtown. There are a bunch of Christmas trees set up that you can buy a raffle ticket to win. We didn't do that, but we did walk around looking at them. (And Graesen got a free sample at the pretzel store, so that's what's in his hands/mouth in the pictures).
I also let Graesen run around on the skywalks and look down at the cars below.
We also went to a book store to check out the Christmas train they had on display and a toy store where Graesen spent a good 30 minutes playing with the train table and checking out the store.
It may have not been anything too special, but Graesen loved our little outing and it definitely helped my mood.
