Just can't get enough

We just can't get enough jump time.  I didn't get work today, and Evan didn't work till late afternoon, so we met his mom at the trampoline place.  On Mondays there is a special time for toddlers only.  We didn't have to pay a penny and just got to watch Graesen run and play!  It is so fun to watch him :)

He was exhausted this afternoon after all that exercise.

A friend of mine gave birth to a baby girl this morning.  Graesen and I went to meet her tonight.  She is just so sweet-I love newborns! I miss those early days with Graesen.  I took some pictures, but I haven't asked her about posting them, so I won't.  But, believe me, the sweet little girl is gorgeous!  Graesen loved her too.  While I held her he just smiled and rubbed my arm.  When Graesen is feeling loving he always rubs my back or arm.  I love it!

Spoiled boy

Graesen was so spoiled today.  He got to go to the Olive Garden with one set of grandparents, back to the trampoline place (where the little kids' area was open today!) with cousin Phoebe and a friend, and then dinner at the other grandparents' house.  Lucky boy :)

Helping

I decided to organize our filing cabinets today.  They needed it BAD, as in they were not organized at all before today.  Graesen tried to help out.  Really, he did this all on his own :)

Bouncing off the walls

My little wild man needed to burn some energy this afternoon.  First we took him to the park, but it was a bit cold...

So, we took him to a new trampoline place in town where he could literally bounce off the walls.  He is free, which is really nice.  We just paid for Evan to jump with him, since it was crowded and for some reason the kids court (for the little guys) was closed.  Evan watched him like a hawk.  He loved it!
Sorry for the weird picture quality, I had to use the motion setting to keep them from being blurry.

Dreaming...

of spring...

...and of a day, hopefully in the not-so-distant future, when Graesen gets over the seriously cranky moods he has been having.  I was hoping some good old fashioned fresh air would help.  It did, until we left.

Hair cut

My mom cut Graesen's hair while she babysat him today.  He had been needing it so bad.  He looks much better, but unfortunately older with shorter hair :(.

My Baby

Some days I look at Graesen and see this boy who is far too big to actually be my baby.   For him to be so big would mean that I would actually have to admit that he is a toddler, not a baby.  There are moments, however, when I am reminded of how little he still is.  A bath in the sink after a particularly sticky lunch reminds me that he still has room to stretch out and wiggle around in something as little as a sink.  He can be my baby for a moment longer.

Wild man

Graesen has taken to riding his rocking horse in a new way.  I am in trouble with this one :)

I babysat Phoebe today, because I didn't have a sub job.  These two have so much fun together.

I tried to do this painting project with Graesen.  He was very excited at first, but got tired of painting quickly.  I had to finish the painting for him.  Construction paper was not the right choice.  When I tried to take the tape off, it wouldn't tear quite right.

Bubble

I am thinking I need to live in a bubble.  A few weeks ago I got a kidney stone that will not go away.  Most days I am not in pain now, but when I am in pain I am in major pain.  The dr says it probably won't pass on its own.  And after doing some research I have found that people with celiac disease are way more likely to get kidney stones.  Hmmm, maybe it is time I start listening to those stomach aches and doctors and take this gluten-free diet thing more seriously.
Today I added to the complete mess that is me.  I was out running (which hurts my kidney stone if I go over 30 min-not really sure how I am going to run the half marathon I am signed up for at the end of Feb, maybe walk a bunch???), when I slipped and fell on some ice.  It snowed a little last night which just hid the ice and gave me a false sense of security.  I fell hard and twisted my leg in some crazy way.  It was one of those times when I knew it was not good right away.  Luckily, I was only about a block from home, but even that felt like a long way.  I think I sprained my ankle and did something to my leg.  Basically everything from my toes to my knee hurts.  As I sit here my foot feels oddly cold, like maybe the swelling is cutting off my circulation...maybe I need to enter the wheelchair division of the half marathon.  Luckily the class I was working in this afternoon had a student teacher, so I did a whole lot of sitting around watching.
In happier news, Graesen looked incredibly handsome today in his button up shirt :).

We also baked cookies as a family again.  Only this time we used gluten-free flour, which tastes disgusting.  I'm not sure if any of the cookies will actually get eaten, but at least we had fun making them :)

Practicing

Graesen is practicing for future dates.  He uses a fork...

sometimes...

He is even learning to drink out of a regular cup.  However, he still eats without his clothes on, and does this when he is done eating..

It's okay, I don't really want him dating for another 20 years anyways!  :)
