Use me

A big prayer I have had lately is that God may use me and my situation to reach others.  Earlier this year I read something on somebody's blog (I cannot remember anymore whose blog it was) that keeps coming back to me.  The blogger wrote that she had been really struggling seeing someone she loved go through some really rough times.  Her husband told her that God chooses people to go through struggles who will glorify Him through it.  We live in a broken world.  There are going to be illnesses, heartbreaks, wars, and death.  But maybe, God chooses which people will go through particular struggles because of the way they will handle those struggles.  The strong Christian who battles cancer will show others how to keep their faith in the midst of illness and a failing body.  The faithful family who loses a child will not spend the rest of their lives angry, but instead will seek to help others going through similar situations.  So my prayer lately has been that God will use me somehow.  That this suffering will not be in vain.  That somehow, through me, others will see that God is faithful even during life's most difficult seasons.
I am actually amazed at the way God has been working in my heart the last couple of years.  With every heart ache I felt a definite pull towards God.  The more I lost, the greater the relationship I gained with God.  He's at work in my life.  I have no idea what is in store and that terrifies the worrier in me, but I know that it is all in His hands.

Graesen got a much needed hair cut today.  He got a little nervous at times, but did so great.

(he was a little sad in this picture, because she tried to cut around his face and it made him nervous)
He was so proud of his "Bob the Builder" stamps he got after his haircut :)

Graesen and I went to my aunt's house for dinner and a movie tonight.  Graesen was just too cute sitting in his little kid chair with his animal crackers.
