About time

I am amazed that it is Thursday and I haven't posted since Sunday!  I've just been busy and too tired at night to stay up and post.  On top of that, something weird has been going on with my editing program.  I tried a free online one tonight, but now, even though the pictures are saved straight, they are showing up on blogger sideways :(  Since it is late I am just going to give up and leave you with sideways pictures. Here is a little recap of our week so far:

Monday: Graesen was so tired when I got him back from his dad that he fell asleep on the way home (5:15) and wouldn't wake up, despite my efforts, until the next morning.

Tuesday: Graesen has been loving playing outside on the playground again.  He played basketball for a while, but didn't quite have it down as much as the other boys.  He is, however, very determined and keeps trying :)

Wednesday:  We had an egg drop contest at school.  Graesen's egg (in that container) didn't break :)

Graesen will be attending a friend's birthday party this week.  I told him that he had to write the card this time, so I wrote his name and his friend's name on another sheet of paper for him to copy.  He's getting better all the time :)

Thursday: It was picture day at school today.  It took the photographer several shots to get a good one of Graesen.  He kept doing weird things with his arms and looking way up high.

Palm Sunday

Graesen was sooo excited all week to be a palm branch waver at church :)  I think he may have been the most enthusiastic kid out there!

Swimming

Graesen and I went swimming at the gym today.  I tried to get a good picture of him before we got in the water.  I ended up with several pictures showing how skinny he is getting.  I always knew he would be a skinny kid...

For the record, he does eat. A lot.

Finally Friday!!!

I am so tired this week.  With traveling over the weekend, my allergies kicking in, and some other crazy stuff I am just worn out and so happy that it is Friday.  Here is a little recap of our last few days.

Tuesday: Graesen is so excited, because his little flowers stems have started to grown :)

Wednesday:  I hadn't had Graesen practice writing his name lately.  On Wednesday I had all my students spend a little time practicing, and I couldn't believe how much Graesen had improved.  He now writes in a line and was even trying to write it without looking up at where I wrote his name.  He did add in an extra "s," but I think he did great :)

Thursday:  Graesen loves following me around the house for chores and earning his allowance.  He now empties the silverware and puts it away (I don't put the sharp knives in there, so he is okay), clears his place at the table, helps me sweep, helps me clean the bathroom and floors, and even folds a little laundry.  This week he put all of the change in his "For God" jar into his fish for One Great Hour of Sharing.

Friday:  We ordered a gluten free pizza from dominos tonight and did a little movie watching.  Graesen also totally impressed me with his spelling skills. I would give him a 3 letter word, and he would find the correct refrigerator letters and spell the word.  The kid just amazes me:)

Quick weekend trip

My niece and nephew both have March birthdays.  This weekend they had a combined birthday on the other side of the state.  I knew I had to have Graesen back by 11 am on Sunday for his visit with his dad, but my aunt was kind enough to volunteer to wake up super early and drive us.  Saturday morning we left around 6 am.  Graesen and Phoebe did great, and loved that we gave them my mom's and my aunt's kindles to play with.

The party was a PE party.  They rented out the gym at the school where my brother in law teaches.  They had a friend who teaches PE put on some activities for the kids.  They all played so hard, and even the adults joined in on the fun at times.

Aidan and Addison each had their own cake at the party.  Addison insisted that her's say, "Go Green!  Good for Nature" :)  She also decided that instead of presents she wanted people to donate animal food to a local animal shelter.

At the end of the party everyone went out to the playground so the kids could play some more.

Sunday morning we left at 4 am.  Graesen and Phoebe slept over half of the way home.  We changed  at a rest stop and gave them the St. Patrick's Day treats my mom had packed for them.

Tonight Graesen was so tired when I got him back from Evan that he fell asleep on the way home and is still asleep.  I guess he needed the rest after such a busy weekend!
