Watermelon boats and other fun things

I had my students make watermelon boats on Tuesday.  I gave each kid half of a mini watermelon and let them eat it.  The classroom was a huge mess!  After the long cleanup process, each kid decorated a sail and we put them in the boats, filled up a little pool, and let our boats sail.  I got the idea from Play at Home Mom, and the kids were crazy about it :)

Wednesday we did a little liquid chalk outside.  The kids love how bright the colors are.

Wednesday night Graesen and I went for a run.  At the end we got his bike and tried having him ride while I ran.  He didn't quite go fast enough for me to run, but it was still fun for both of us.

Yesterday I let my students paint with their feet.  They loved it, but then it started to rain/hail an I was stuck trying to wipe of 10 feet in a hurry under the overhang of the building :)

Tonight I was so tired, so I gave into Graesen's request for pizza, and ordered a gluten-free from domioes.  Graesen watched "Fireman Sam" and practiced his rescue skills while I did a little reading.

Camping

I'll start with a catch up of the week, and then I will talk about our weekend camping trip...

Thursday I did't get any pictures.  I was too busy try to get things done before the weekend.

Friday night we headed out to go camping with my parents and Phoebe.  The kids were so excited to go.

Saturday we spent the day riding bikes, going on a drive around the area, playing at the playground, and learning to fly kites.

Sunday morning I headed back to town with Graesen and Phoebe.  Graesen had a visit with his dad, and Phoebe was ready to get home to her mom (especially after a big spill resulting in quite the owie).  I tried to get some pictures of Graesen by some old trucks on the way, but it didn't work out as well as I had hoped :(

Today when I got Graesen back I decided to use a gift card I had for ice cream.  Such a yummy treat :)
