Better

Graesen had a much better day, thank goodness!  I took him to school a little early to check out his new class and cubby, and talk to his new teacher.  He doesn't switch classes until Tuesday, but I thought it might help ease his fears to see his new room again.  He is still asking a lot of questions about it.
Tonight we went for a run and Graesen sang most of the way.  He made up songs and sang his way through the neighborhoods :)  Actually, last night he sang a church at the top of his lungs while I mowed the lawn.  He just sat on the porch and sang away :)

We also baked some gluten free cookies tonight.  It made Graesen's day.

Baseball, bees, and more

Last Wednesday was my sister's last day in town visiting for a while.  We took the kids out to dinner.  Graesen was not in the mood for pictures :(

Thursday night Graesen kept told me he was cold and went to get some warmer clothes.  He dressed himself in a swim shirt and a jacket that barely fits :)

Friday night we went to Graesen's first baseball game.  He loved going back and forth between the game and the kids' play area.

Saturday we tried running/biking together on a short bike trail near our house.  Graesen did great riding, but kept wanting to stop to do things.  Needless to say my run was very stop/go.

Sunday after church we headed to my friend's flower farm.  We wanted to get some flowers for Graesen's teachers to thank them for his summer since he is switching to a big kid class next week.  We weren't there long when Graesen got stung by a bee on the lip.  He swelled up a lot.

Later that day we went to see the movie Planes with a gift card I had.

Monday, no picture.

Last night I had a work meeting at night.  Graesen got to hang out with my parents and Phoebe.  He was watching a movie and eating popcorn when I got there.

Today Graesen has been a bit of a mess.  Actually, he has been a bit of a mess the last few weeks.  He has been having trouble with transitions at school, and getting upset/obsessive about things easily.  Yesterday he cried and clung to my leg when I dropped him off in his room (something that hasn't happened in a long time).  Today he was at the verge of tears several times.  At dinner our cat tried to jump up on my lap and slid with his claws stuck in my leg.  I screamed, because it hurt/surprised me so much.  Graesen cried and wanted to know if I still love our cat.  I told him that of course I still love our cat, just like I always love him no matter what.  Poor boy is just really stressed/upset lately.  Then at bedtime, he started worrying about school.  He is switching classes next week, and is just scared.  He was worried he wouldn't see his current teachers anymore and that he would have to be in a class with really big kids.  He insists that he will not go to kindergarten and just wants to stay home and learn with me.  He just gets very upset at any mention of kindergarten.  I'm not sure why Graesen is so stressed right now, but I'm going to work really hard at helping ease his mind and give him extra love/cuddles.

A new nephew, cousin time, and lots of catch up

The Sunday before last, Graesen did a little swimming at my parents' house when he came back from his dad's:

Monday after work we headed to the hospital, because my sister was having a c-section.  Graesen absolutely loves his new cousin, Hunter :)

 Practicing with a doll:

Tuesday Graesen spent a little time with Phoebe at my parents' house so I could go visit Hunter again.  Phoebe and Graesen put on a little concert and dance in the backyard :)

My mom made Graesen a sling for his own doll after he saw Phoebe's and wanted one.

Wednesday Graesen was so tired that he fell asleep on the way home from work (about 5:30) and slept all the way through the night.  I tried to wake him up, but he would not wake up!

Thursday night I went to a wedding shower for a co-worker.  No pictures that day.

Friday night we spent the night at my parents' house, because Rachae and Addison were in town.  We stayed up late watching movies and eating snacks :)

Saturday, Rachae and I took the kids up to a farm for peach festival.  The kids tried out the trampolines.  They also played in the pea pit, fed the sheep, and picked peaches.

We also took the kids out to frozen yogurt and had another movie night.

Graesen and I stopped on the way home (yes, in his p.j.s) to pick up a few groceries.  Graesen is going to need a notebook when he moves up to his new class in two weeks.  I let him choose whatever he wanted, and he chose a pink one with cats on it :)  This boy loves cats!

Sunday after church we went kayaking to a little waterfall with Rachae and Addison.

At night we headed to a friend's birthday party.  Graesen had so much fun playing in the splash pad and playing baseball :)

Last night we headed home right after work for a calm night.  Graesen played with playdough while I cleaned and made dinner.
